Sewing.

Or Photography, but since I already took photography classes in college, I really do want to learn to sew.

What is your personal motto?

It's something I learned from Mom:

"This is something I chose."

Repeating that several times keeps me from complaining, because, at the end of the day, whatever it is, it's usually an outcome of a choice I consciously made.

The role of "Mom" is not difficult in and of itself. It's everything that goes with being "Mom" that can be taxing because it's never just one role!

Why do you blog?

There are lots of reasons I blog.

I blog to vent. I blog to brag. I blog to remember funny little things that happen during the day.

Mostly, though, I blog to make sure I keep writing. Even if it's just writing down my thoughts or anecdotes of my life, it's something.

The fact that people actually read this stuff is an added bonus!

What are your first thoughts upon waking?

Since I usually awake to the sound of The Boy's cries, my first thought is, "What time is it?"

My next thought is, "Is he really awake, or is he just fussing?"

And if it's a decent hour for him to wake (i.e., not 4 in the morning), I'll bounce out of bed pretty easily. If it's not a decent hour for him to wake, I'll lie in bed waiting for him to settle down and go back to sleep. And then I'll go back to sleep.

What's on your "To-Do" list today? What are you most looking forward to and what are you most dreading?

My "To-Do" list? BWAH-HA-HA-HA-HA!

I started out my day with a beautiful "To Do" list. I had an early morning meeting, and I even brought home the files we would be discussing to get a jump start on my talking points for the meeting. And then I had a few other odds and ends to clean up and prepare for next week. Fridays are my easiest days. Ususally.

Today - not unlike every day this week - I sat down at my desk to find an urgent message from my counterpart in Finance. "Quick!" it said. "Drop everything and work on this immediately!" (Okay, that's not verbatim, but as I've got this pesky NDA over my head, I can't exactly repeat what it said.) So, my List goes out the window and I immediately start updating the models I painstakingly completed earlier this week and creating new scenarios based upon said models. And then my boss's boss calls me into her office to go over the necessary changes - and, oh, I need to have this to the CMO before his 1 o'clock meeting with the CEO to review my findings. (It's 11:30 by the way, and I still need to have Finance validate my numbers. No pressure or anything.)

With that out of the way (and no food in my tummy), I was then able to sit down with my beloved List. Only I got ambushed next for sales numbers on a different initiative, then sidetracked by other requests, until I finally was able to do a few things. Of course, my List still isn't completed, but now that it's 4:15 and I haven't left my desk except to use the loo (twice), I'm really not motivated to do much more work.

(Just got interrupted to check on sales for a test item that is currently selling in just one location - but it's selling very well.)

So, yeah... I'm kind of done for the day.

Wait. Make that for the week.

Well, this is truly a toss up. I think the most credit has to go to my sister (she was, after all, a great influencer and still is in many ways), but a lot of credit has to go to the coolest person on the planet, my good friend Cherry.

Has anyone ever done something so horrible to you that "I'm sorry" couldn't fix it?

Yes. Many times.

I will often let it go with "I'm sorry" - but I won't ever forget it, and God help you if/when you do it again. And yeah, I'm one to hold onto things.

It's a big part of the reason I'll probably die young.
