[this is good]

I would be upset too. It sounds like the have a habit of misplacing wipes it wouldn't surprise me if they misplace diapers too...this may mean they use other chidren's diapers on your child or visa versa. That may not be good depending on what you have to buy for your children. I heard of a daycare lady in our area that would take your pack of diapers return them to the store for the generic and then pocket the money! Horrifying, no?

Oh, daycare can be such a pain in the butt.

The idea that someone would make a profit exchanging diapers for generic ones - ugh! [shudders] I can't believe some people actually would do that!

I've made a habit of putting his initials on all his diapers. This wasn't always the case, but I got tired of seeing permanent marker stains on his onesies and discovered that my scrapbooking pens work really well on the diapers and don't leave any residue on the clothing.

I honestly don't mind if they use his diapers for other kids on occasion (like if someone else is out), just as long as they change him as frequently as they ought. And I have a sneaking suspicion that's at least part of the problem here.

oh, helllllllllllllllllllllllll no. *I'M* pissed! that's just not right. they need to be changing him as often as you ask. he should NOT have diaper rash so bad that he's BLEEDING. jeezus h christ.

also, i hate desitin. it was never good for mia. and not using desitin isn't going to give your kid a rash. a&d cream works best for mia. and actually when she DOES have a rash, plain vaseline always worked best for her.

man, effe them. i hope you wrote a scathing letter to the director...

I'm unleashing my husband on them - which is actually pretty funny because between the two of us, he's much easier to handle. But yes - if his diaper rash is so bad that his bottom is raw and bleeding, there are serious issues at hand. So, I'll let my husband question them and I'll wait and see if they listen to Ms L and keep a more watchful eye on The Boy and his bum. I'll give it another week. After all, I have a half day tomorrow and I'll have diaper duty for three days, enough time to clear any problems down there. But he gets even the start of a rash next week, I'll make sure the director gets a earful from me.

I bought more of the cream (the blue tube) to bring to school, and I'll tell them to use this liberally with his ointment. I'm also bringing in plain cornstarch for him tomorrow, too.

Yesterday morning's diaper change was very easy. He didn't fuss or complain one bit. This morning's diaper changes were awful. He didn't want anything near his bum - no wipes, no water, no ointment, nothing. The only way I could get any ointment there was to let him roll over, and, oh, it just looked so awful, I felt terrible. If I could have let him run around naked, I would have.

it's ridiculous to think that they would listen to your husband more than they'd listen to you... that pisses me off, too. not that your husband doesn't do his share of diaper-changing... but why would they think they he'd know more than you would????

man. how DARE they. when mia was a little younger she had a diaper rash SO bad that she cried anytime i even brought up changing her diaper. the thought of it makes me want to cry. so i can kinda understand how you feel... i should've just let her run around nekkid, but she had diarrhea so i was afraid of it getting everywhere...

i hope that they listen to you guys so you don't have to escalate it... but if you do, i hope you guys unleash hell on them. hehe.

Chris called after he picked up The Boy. Apparently, they used just the teeniest bit of ointment and a whole lot of powder at his last diaper change. That's the complete reverse of what we do at home. Anyway, my husband told them we don't use powder (true - it's only used to dry out the skin before putting on the ointment) and showed them how much ointment we use at home. "Oh, I see" was the response.

I'll give it another week. But if they tell me that I need to be using Desitin again...

okay. it's not like they're buying these products using their own money. you'd think they would just use the products as they're asked.

JEEZ.

and they can't even be apologetic about it? they're causing your boy a whole lotta pain and "oh, i see" is all they can muster up????

you're nice for giving them another week. i'd be all up in the director's face. hehe.
It's really a shame you're on the other side of the country. Now that you're back down to one kid, I could have you look after The Boy! :-D
oh, and i totally would. :D
Mia would probably want to keep him, though. And then he'd watch those God-awful Boo-Bah things at your house and I would be doomed!
Diaper rash sucks! I'm sorry you all are having such drama over it. You're a good mom. You'll get to the bottom (hee, hee) of it!
One time ALex had a diaper rash that was as bad as you're describing.
I've used all three creams and they all seem to be equally semi-effective for my son (I just like the smell of Bordreaux's best). Like you said changing them frequently and helping them to avoid upset stomachs seems to be the key. Then if they do have the rash, you must be consistent with the cream!!!
