A true friend's work is never done!
Note: If you can name the movie in which the above title is a line, you are very cool, indeed. If you can't, it's no biggie. But you're not as cool as you could be.
Next Friday, my department is going off-site for a team outing. I'm not even going to pretend it's a constructive team building event, because it's really not. We're going to EPCOT to celebrate a great year to date, and I, for one, am totally psyched.
EPCOT is my favorite of the Disney parks. A close second would be Animal Kingdom, but that's a post for a different day. What I like about EPCOT is the variety it offers. I love the Land, Journey Into Imagination, and, of course, the World Showcase.
The latter is where my teammates will likely spend most of their time. The plan, from what I understand, is to go to EPCOT and enjoy food and spirits and, well, just have a really good time. And, as I've already been asked to be a designated driver, I think more than a few people are planning on having a really good time.
I don't drink much anymore. I haven't had a drink for more than a year, and, except for the fact that I enjoy the taste of wine, I really don't miss it. I certainly don't miss how it makes me feel. It doesn't help that I'm an extreme lightweight who gets drunk off a single glass of wine with dinner, either. I honestly think that even when I'm done breastfeeding, I'm probably not going to indulge in more than a very occasional glass of wine.
So, I get to be DD and babysit my coworkers. And, because I'm also anxious to test out the new lens that I got from Chris and Baby C for Mothers' Day, I'll also be the group photographer.
And maybe the group blackmailer. ;-)

OMG, that is way too funny!
This movie is one of my absolute all-time favorites. The first time I watched it, I was like, "WTF?", but immediately had to watch it again. And again. And again. To the point that I know the dialogue so well, my husband refuses to watch it with me.
And my favorite thing to say to people who annoy? "You're such a pillowcase." Few people know what to say to that.
I have 2 versions on DVD (of course I do), so you can borrow one and watch it repeatedly while you're on maternity leave.
I want to take Baby C to Food & Wine after his 6-month birthday, so he can wear some sunscreen and I won't feel too terrible about bringing him outside. Plus, it will be nice for him to see some new sights. Our limited journeys have only exposed him to so much.
I don't think they write dialogue for teen movies like they used to. I have to confess I liked Mean Girls, though, and I absolutely loved Clueless.
One of my favorite non-Heathers lines comes from Some Kind of Wonderful: "Ease up, Dad. Any fool can get into college. Only a precious few may say the same about Amanda Jones."
And, of course, I didn't understand what that line meant until I got much, much, much older!
